Subject Guidelines

Course   (a)   OIL PAINTINGS cleaned, canvas lined or patched, split panels repaired, filling , retouching & re-varnishing.

Course   (b)   WORKS of ART on PAPER (inc. Watercolours, Drawings, Gouaches, Pastels, & Prints of various kinds)

                      Removal from old acidic card, cleaning, repair of damage/strengthening if necessary, retouching & finishing.

Course   (c)   FRAMES cleaned, repaired, loose composition consolidated, cast-repairs, gesso-work, preparation for 

                     gilding.

Course   (d)   GILDING using the most versatile size for leafing with 'option to burnish', as well as traditional oil & water

                     techniques & use of gold-leaf, metal-leaf, & alternative gilding, burnishing, distressing, antique-patination etc.

MOUNTING & FRAMING TECHNIQUES

Course   (e)   HAND-FINISHING FRAMES (staining, polishing, painting, gilding, waxing, etc.)
